Katathani beachfront restaurant- Phuket
We arrived, tried a couple of cocktails as we perused the menu, then got started.
What can be better than eating fresh seafood sitting on the beach- a crime not to-
This dish was delicious
Next we sampled a local crabmeat dish that combined gazpacho and poached prawn. Of course this depended on the quality of the crabmeat and the level of presentation. The flavors worked well together and the dish was refreshing in our tropical paradise
This is a different name for the ubiquitous surf and turf- lobster and tenderloin-
we complemented the chef on the quality of the beef- the Phuket lobster is never that great in our opinion. The restaurant decorations were nice.
Next we worked on a seafood skewer with local white fish from the Andaman. The chef told us he is partial to Garupa for its flavor and we noticed the freshness of this fish.
Finally there was a seafood medley that the chef found interesting that day. As we always say, let the chef bring you the freshest options wherever you are eating fish, they will know better.
The chef was right, this butterfish was perfect and a good ending to a beach seafood experience at the Katathani.
We tried a couple of deserts from their extensive menu that finished off the evening nicely. Good for the whole family
