THE BEST BLOODY MARY

We love our Bloody Mary here at Think Media. We have tried them far and wide across the world. We have never seen one like this though…it has to win the large serving award for sure…THIS IS FROM SAM’S TAVERN IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON, in the USA

For those who like history:

There are various stories but as best we can tell…The cocktail was claimed as a new cocktail under the name "Red Hammer" in LIFE magazine in 1942, consisting of tomato juice, vodka, and lemon juice. Less than a month later in the same magazine, an advertisement  for Worcestershire sauce suggested that it be added to a virgin "Tomato Juice Cocktail" along with tomato juice, salt, and pepper. The addition of salt to the alcoholic beverage was suggested that same year in a magazine story.

The name "Bloody Mary" is associated with a number of historical figures — particularly  Queen Mary I of England, who was nicknamed that for attempting to re-establish the Catholic Church in England. Blood was spilled as you can imagine… Some drink aficionados believe the inspiration for the name was Hollywood star Mary Pickford. Others trace the name to a waitress named Mary who worked at a Chicago bar called the Bucket of Blood….

The Bloody Mary is a common "Hair of the dog" drink, reputed by some to cure hangovers due to its combination of a heavy vegetable base (to settle the stomach), salt (to replenish lost electrolytes) and alcohol (to relieve head and body aches). In Phuket, something colder might work better.

As far as Phuket…at night, we recommend the Bloody Mary at Siam Super Club

but as it is only open in the evening..During the day, which is when you will need one, Head over to the Hyatt Regency in Kamala and have one by their pool, one of Phuket’s best pools
The video of the Hyatt will give you an idea of what a beautiful resort
They have a great brunch there as well
